A wonderfully sophisticated vintage-esque hat for fall!
This one will look just perfect worn with a lovely black or green coat as you stroll through the park on a crisp afternoon! I've blocked the crown of this hat in a black, long-pile melusine fur felt but the rolled brim is a rich black velour felt for interesting textural contrast. I've embellished this beauty with a wide, forest green ribbon band and a feather ornament of peacock and a few cut coque feathers for a tailored and elegant finish.
This hat was blocked on a 22-1/2 inch crown block and will best fit a head that size but that said, the brim that rolls to the underside provides some sizing flexibility. On my large 23-1/2 inch head, this hat sits comfortably and stably as more of a perching hat. If you have any questions about sizing, please don't hesitate to ask!

I'm so glad you asked! Avoid wearing a straw hat in wet weather because it will quickly lose its shape in the rain. You may also find that some dyed straws' colors will run when wet.
Avoid getting fabric trims like silk flowers, ribbon ornaments and veils wet as these can still look droopy even after they dry again.
If a felt hat becomes wet, stuff it loosely with tissue before allowing it to dry. If your felt looks dull or dusty, you can use a bristle brush to brush up the nap again.
To store, stuff your hat loosely with tissue paper to hold its shape, and put it in its hat box away from dust and sunlight. Never hang a hat or keep it on a stand or its shape could become distorted over time.
