This is the perfect hat for the transition to Fall and cooler weather! Made up in a vibrant rust-colored parasisal straw, this women's fedora-style hat is trimmed with bold black and white striped silk and can be worn with neutral colors of all sorts. If you're like me and are not afraid to mix your patterns, you could even wear this one with animal print, which would look absolutely fabulous!

This beauty has a very fetching swoop to the brim at the front a dramatically downturned brim at left. A vintage black Bakelite buckle from my collection subtly ups the fab factor. This really is a head-turner of a hat in a very wearable, classic style. It will best fit a 22-1/2 inch head size but my head is a little bigger and it also fits me as a bit of a percher. Feel free to inquire if you have any doubt about sizing!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you custom-make a hat for me?

Yes, I'd be delighted to work with you on the custom hat of your dreams! Give me a sense of what you're looking for and I can provide you with an estimate of turnaround time and cost. Please just ask!

I like a hat in your shop but would prefer it had a different trim. Can you swap out the trim on an existing hat for me?

In some cases I can do this and in some cases I can't. Please don't hesitate to ask and we can discuss it!

How do I care for and store my new hat?

I'm so glad you asked! Avoid wearing a straw hat in wet weather because it will quickly lose its shape in the rain. You may also find that some dyed straws' colors will run when wet.

Avoid getting fabric trims like silk flowers, ribbon ornaments and veils wet as these can still look droopy even after they dry again.

If a felt hat becomes wet, stuff it loosely with tissue before allowing it to dry. If your felt looks dull or dusty, you can use a bristle brush to brush up the nap again.

To store, stuff your hat loosely with tissue paper to hold its shape, and put it in its hat box away from dust and sunlight. Never hang a hat or keep it on a stand or its shape could become distorted over time.
