Perfect for Derby, Easter, Mother's Day, or your next backyard Spring soirée!
This sweet and stylish little straw boater is crafted from the loveliest materials and such a delight to make! Blocked from lavender sinamay straw, it is embellished with a hat band and a little tailored bow composed of bias ribbons of the same sinamay layered on top of antique metallic silver braid. A cloud of luscious (and very special) vintage silk veiling with lavender chenille dots softens the clean brim line and adds a little mystery.
This hat is a little, lightweight thing with an attached silk-wrapped wire bandeau that fits around your head to hold it in place. The wire structure can be easily adjusted to fit your head more closely or loosely and will therefore fit a variety of head sizes.
Truly a lovely little percher for your more ladylike moods!

I'm so glad you asked! Avoid wearing a straw hat in wet weather because it will quickly lose its shape in the rain. You may also find that some dyed straws' colors will run when wet.
Avoid getting fabric trims like silk flowers, ribbon ornaments and veils wet as these can still look droopy even after they dry again.
If a felt hat becomes wet, stuff it loosely with tissue before allowing it to dry. If your felt looks dull or dusty, you can use a bristle brush to brush up the nap again.
To store, stuff your hat loosely with tissue paper to hold its shape, and put it in its hat box away from dust and sunlight. Never hang a hat or keep it on a stand or its shape could become distorted over time.
